Welcome to District One! I am Elizabeth Gell, your Vice President of Membership from D.H Conley High School. District one offers a wide range of things to do, from parks and nature trails to museums and shopping malls. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
Interested in historical sites and museums? We have the city Kitty Hawk where the Wright brothers invented the first successful airplane.There are also plenty of museums in our district. Some of them include the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort, the Ocracoke Preservation Museum, the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum in Hatteras Island and plenty of others as well. If your not really into historical sites there are plenty of other things to do in District 1. District one has our very own stadium; the Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. It is the third largest college stadium in North Carolina. Greenville also has a mall that you can go and shop for all of your needs. We also have Cape Hatteras which is a big lighthouse. Another thing if you love the beach then you can go to the outer banks and cool off during the summer. District one is full of culture and nature. There is a park or a trail pretty much around every corner. But, the best part of our district is how close and friendly everyone is to each other. Everywhere you go there is always a welcoming smile and someone will always lend a hand when you need it.
